Golf tournaments during June and August are very much present in the Dominican Republic’s calendar of events. On June 1, the Santo Domingo Tourism Golf Tournament 2013 will take place, with the goal of promoting the many tourist attractions in the Dominican capital.
It is also a charity event that will benefit a Catholic children’s organization.
In August, the “Casa de Campo Open” will be held at the Teeth of the Dog and Dye Fore golf courses, in La Romana.
Local and international sports figures are scheduled to participate.
The tournament is scheduled to take place on the “Los Marlins” golf course, in Metro Country Club, situated some 40 minutes east of Santo Domingo.
The “Casa de Campo Open”, will be held from August 11-15 in the resort’s world-famous Teeth of the Dog and Dye Fore golf courses. Both were designed by renowned architect Pete Dye.
The event, organized by Casa de Campo, will bring together national and international players.
During last year’s tournament golfers from the United States, Aruba, France, St. Thomas, Curacao, Canada, the Bahamas, Costa Rica, Mexico, Haiti, Italy, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Australia and the Dominican Republic participated in the event.
